Tourist and Business Visa to Egypt

 

Regulations for obtaining Entry Visa to Egypt

 

1.     Visa is valid only for travel within 3 to 6 months from the date of issue and is valid only for One- month stay in Egypt, beginning on the date of arrival. If you have a reason to extend your stay, you can apply for the extension at the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Egypt before the end of your first month of stay.

 
2.      There are two types of Egyptian visa:

·        Tourist Visa: is usually valid for a period not exceeding three months for single entry and six months for multiple entry.

·        Entry Visa: is required for any foreigner arriving in Egypt for purposes other than tourism, e.g. business, work, study, etc. The possession of a valid Entry Visa is needed to complete the residence procedure in Egypt.

 

3.      Those in possession of a residence permit in Egypt are not required to obtain an entry visa if they leave the country and return to it within the validity of their residency permit or within six months, whichever period is less.

 

4.      Egyptian visa fees do not apply to the following: 

·        Holders of diplomatic passports. 

·        Officials of international organizations and specialized agencies and state delegates to conferences. 

·        Arab League officials. 

·        Non-national spouses of Egyptian nationals. 

·        Non-diplomatic personnel of diplomatic and consular missions affected in Egypt

·        Parents, siblings and adult children of members of the diplomatic and consular corps affected in Egypt. 

 

5.      Rules for issuing Tourist or Entry visa to Egypt:

A-    Arabic Countries

Citizens exempted from getting a visa to Egypt:

Citizens of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Yemen, , SyriaOman, Qatar, and Libya

Citizens of the following countries are required to be in possession of a pre-arrival visa to Egypt and they CANNOT get a visa upon their arrival:

Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Somalia, Sudan, Mauritania, Djibouti and Comoros Island

B-    Europe Countries

Citizens of the following countries are required to be in possession of a pre-arrival visa to Egypt and they CANNOT get a visa upon their arrival:

Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the territory of Kosovo

Citizens of the following countries can get a visa from our consulates abroad or upon their arrival to Egypt:

Citizens of all other European countries. 

C-    Asian Countries

Citizens of the following countries are exempted from obtaining visa to enter Egypt

Administrative Region of Hong Kong, the territory of Macau

Citizens of the following countries can get a visa from our consulates abroad or upon their arrival to Egypt:

North Korea, South Korea, Republic of China (Taiwan), Japan, Singapore, Maldives, Nepal, Brunei

Citizens of the following countries are required to be in possession of a pre-arrival visa to Egypt and they CANNOT get a visa upon their arrival:

Turkey, Malaysia, People's Republic of China, Afghanistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Mongolia, Vietnam, Iran, and Israel

D-    USA and Canada

USA (ordinary passport holders) and Canadian citizens can get a visa from our consulates abroad or upon their arrival to Egypt.

USA diplomatic, mission and special passports holders have to have a pre-arrival visa from the Egyptian Consulates in the USA and to also submit to the Egyptian Consulate a note verbal from the US Department of State to request the issuance of the Visa for this passport.

E-     South American Countries

South American citizens can get a visa from our consulates abroad or upon their arrival to Egypt except those from Palestinian origin and Belies citizens from Lebanese origin.

F-     Australia and New Zealand

Australian and New Zealand citizens can get a visa from our consulates abroad or upon their arrival to Egypt.

G-    African Countries

Citizens of Guinea Conakry are exempted from Obtaining Visa to enter Egypt

Citizens of all other African countries are required to be in possession of a pre-arrival visa to Egypt and they CANNOT get a visa upon their arrival.

 

6.      Citizens of some countries need to have a clearance from Egyptian authorities before granting them tourist or entry visa which takes not less than 3 weeks, so if you are a citizen of those countries which CANNOT get a visa upon their arrival, please contact the consulate to know about your case.

 

7.      Any Egyptian citizen holds foreign passport will be granted a courtesy visa after declaring proof for Egyptian nationality like Egyptian (passport, personal or family identification card or birth certificate), also the foreign spouse of Egyptian national will be granted a courtesy visa after declaring a proof of their marriage. 

 

8.      The American citizen (holding American ordinary passport and not any other kind of documents) who does not have enough time to obtain a visa before traveling to Egypt can obtain it upon arrival there (The departure from the arrival port will be delayed for some time until obtaining the visa). 

 

9.      You can obtain the visa application form the consulate or sending a mail request to the consulate with self-addressed stamped envelope or by displaying and printing Visa form from here.

 

10.  For Business visa applicants, kindly enclose a letter from the Company stating the purpose of the trip, duration of stay, and who would be responsible for travel & accommodation expenses.

 

11.  Visa fees vary from one nationality to another as follow:

12.  To obtain a visa Please Submit the following to the consulate:

I- Individual Visa

1)      A valid passport for at least 6 months with at least one blank page to stamp the visa.

2)      One recent colored passport-size photo.

3)      Completed application. Display Visa form from here

4)      Visa fees in Cashier Check or Money orders payable to “Consulate of Egypt”, Personal &Business Check are not accepted”.

5)      For mail, please enclose self-addressed prepaid express mail or prepaid certified mail envelope to send the passport back (For FEDEX and DHL, please send cashier checks payable to the  selected company from the above mentioned companies. or complete the sender section stating the account number and the name of the account holder The consulate does not accept any account numbers or credit cards or personnel checks for the payment to these companies).

6)      In case of foreigners (non-American citizens), they need to provide a copy of their green card, legal residency license or a valid USA visa.

II- Group Visa

1)      A letter typed on the company letterhead, stating the number of travelers (Must be more than 15 applicants), nationalities, date of departure and date of arrival to Egypt. This letter must be notarized before a Notary Public. There is additional $25 for legalization this covering letter, and copies of the travelers passports should be attached to this letter.

2)      A manifest with Name, Nationality, Passport number, Issue date, Expiration date, and one passport-size photo for each passenger to be affixed by the data.

3)      In case there are foreigners (non-American citizens) among travelers, copies of their green card, legal residency license or a valid USA visa should be submitted with the manifest.

4)      Visa fees in Cashier Check or Money orders payable to “Consulate of Egypt”, Personal &Business Check are not accepted.

5)  For mail, please enclose self-addressed prepaid express mail or prepaid certified mail envelope to send the covering letter and the manifest back (For FEDEX and DHL, please send cashier checks payable to the selected company from the above mentioned companies. or complete the sender section stating the account number and the name of the account holder The consulate does not accept any account numbers or credit cards or personnel checks for the payment to these companies).

 

13.  The consulate needs 2 business days to process your visa.

 

14.   Send your Passport with visa application form to the consulate in you jurisdiction as follow:
