For Issuing Egyptian Passport for the First Time

The Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in San Francisco extends its compliments and presents the instructions to issue Egyptian Passport for the first time:

1. Before issuing an Egyptian passport, the consulate must be sure first that the applicant is Egyptian either by:

- The Egyptian birth certificate that declares the Egyptian father’s nationality - if the applicant is less than 16 years old.

-The National ID (Rakam Kawmy) if the applicant is 16 years old or older. This ID is issued only in Egypt and not at the consulate.

- Sons and doughters previously added to either the father or mother’s Egyptian passport.

2. In other cases the consulate contacts the Egyptian ministry of interior and wait for its approval before issuing a new passport.

3. After that we follow the same procedure to issue a new passport.
