For Extending Expired
Egyptian Passport
The
Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in San Francisco extends its
compliments and presents the instructions to extend an expired Egyptian
Passport:
1.
The maximum
validity of the Egyptian passport is 7 years from the date of issue and it
cannot be extend after that, but a new passport must be issued.
2.
The
consulate extends only the passport issued for a period less than 7 years for
different reasons such as:
q
Not
declaring the final status of military service.
q
Students
enrolled at schools or collages.
q
Upon
the request of the Egyptian ministry of interior affairs for different reasons.
3.
The
consulate study each case and contacts the Egyptian ministry of interior and
the Egyptian Cultural office in Washington D.C. if necessary.
4.
No
fees are required for extending the expiration date up to 7 years from date of
issue, after that we follow the same procedure to issue a
new passport.
5. For mail, please enclose self-addressed prepaid
express mail or prepaid certified mail envelope to send the old and new
passports back (For FEDEX, AIRBORNE, DHL,
UPS please send cashier checks payable
to the selected company from the above
mentioned companies. or complete the sender section stating the account number
and the name of the account holder The consulate does not accept any account numbers
or credit cards or personnel checks for the payment to these companies).
