Requirements

For obtaining Egyptian Death Certificate

 

The Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in San Francisco extends its compliments and presents the following instructions in order to obtain an Egyptian Death Certificate for Egyptian citizens died abroad:

 

1.      Obtaining the Egyptian death certificate is done on 2 steps:

             I.      Send to the Consulate a letter requesting the Death Certificate Form and enclose the following:

q       Cashier Check or Money orders  payable to "Egyptian Consulate" for $20.00 for each death certificate (personal checks are not accepted).

q       For mail, please enclose self-addressed stamped envelope to send the form back.

          II.      Complete the first page of the form and send it back to the consulate with the following:

q       Original US death certificate to be revised and then returned back to you.

q       The Original deceased Egyptian passport and a copy of his ID if available.

q       Copy of Egyptian passport of the person applying for death certificate.

q       For mail, please enclose self-addressed prepaid express mail .

2.      The Consulate will send all these documents to the Ministry of interior affairs in Egypt which issues the death certificate and send it back to the consulate.

3.      The process will take not less than six weeks (6 Weeks) .
