Issuing the National Number ID

The consulate of Egypt in San Francisco would like to inform you that the personal and Family IDs are no longer issued to Egyptian citizens neither in Egypt nor at the Egyptian diplomatic and consular missions abroad.
The only recognized and currently issued ID is the National Number ID which is only available for being issued in Egypt before the authority of civil affairs or before civil affairs missions coming from Egypt to the USA. This National Number ID is not available yet for being issued at the Egyptian diplomatic and consular missions abroad.

First: The Following are the forms,documents and information you need to fill out and provide when requesting your National Number ID at your first coming visit to

Egypt

1. Application for requesting the National Number ID. (note: This application will be available some time soon at the consulate to allow you the chance to fill it out in advance before traveling to Egypt).

2. Valid Egyptian passport or any Egyptian official document proves your personality.

3. Document proves your marital status.

4. Document proves your address in Egypt in case you do not want to state the same address stated in your old personal or family ID.

5. Document proves your current profession.

6. Your birth certificate (and your husband birth certificate if you are a married female).

7. Contact information of a person living in Egypt whom could be contacted by the authority of civil affairs in case additional information is needed.

Second: To apply for the National ID before Civil Affairs missions coming from Egypt to the USA:
All Egyptian citizens abroad, who had not the chance yet to apply for the National ID and would like to apply for it for the first time at the Civil Affairs Missions coming from Egypt on temporary basis to issue the National ID for the Egyptians living in the United States, can now learn about the required documentations at the website " http://www.cso.gov.eg/Caution.aspx " .

They also can submit a preliminary Online applications at the same website and get a number for their applications at the end of the submission.
This Online applications will help the Egyptian Authorities to estimate the size of demand on this service by Egyptians in different regions to determine the validity, timing and location of such missions, which will be announced ahead of time.
Also, this Online applications will be revised by the Civil Affairs Authority in Egypt in order to save the time and the effort of the Citizens abroad as well as the temporary visiting Missions will come to the USA.
